Speaking of sleep, I've been popping these melatonin gummies like they're candy. They're like a little slice of sleep heaven, but I'm trying not to get too hooked. I mean, who wants to be dependent on gummies for shut-eye, right? They've been a comfort, though, and I feel like they've been doing wonders for my rest. Last week, I actually surpassed my sleep goal, averaging a solid 7 hours per night! As I gear up for the sleep phase of my 30-day challenge, I'm realizing the importance of establishing a more consistent bedtime routine.
Switching gears to fitness, things have been chugging along smoothly. While there haven't been any groundbreaking personal records or distance achievements, I did have a thrilling interval session in my fresh pair of Hoka Mach 6 kicks. The difference in performance was noticeable from the get-go, and I can't wait to put them to the test in an upcoming race!
Reflecting on last week's challenge to delve into gratitude journaling, I found it to be a rewarding experience. In fact, I'm considering making it a weekly habit due to its positive impact. If you haven't given it a shot yet, I highly recommend giving it a try.
On the entertainment front, I finally caught Monkey Man last week, and let me tell you, it was a cinematic gem. Dev Patel rocked it in his directorial debut. Can't wait to see what he does next. My Saturday was a delightful mix of a sisterly lunch outing and a not-so-spooky Saturday evening with Henry Cavill in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. I mean, if Henry Cavill is on screen, I'm there.
That's all from me for now. Until we meet again next week, take care!
Weekly Obsession: ShxtsnGigs has been my go-to podcast/YouTube channel lately, and it never fails to crack me up. Whether it's their banter or the random topics they dive into, I find myself hooked. From tuning in during my morning commute to winding down before bed, and yes, even during my running sessions, these two friends never fail to bring a smile to my face.
What I'm Reading: Admittedly, I still haven't managed to pick up The Idea of You again. It's still sitting in my reading queue on Audible, silently calling my name, but I haven't felt compelled to delve back in.
What I'm Watching: Last week, I finally wrapped up watching Ripley, and if you're curious about my thoughts, check out my review. I'm still watching Shogun and Tracker. A recent addition to my viewing schedule is The Chosen. I binge-watched the entire first season in a single day – I now understand why it has garnered such a massive following. Now that it's available on streaming, I rewatched Bob Marley: One Love. Although the subtitles were only mildly helpful, I did understand much more of the movie than I did the first time! I also rewatched Snatch, arguably Guy Ritchie's best movie, and it's still good. And I'll keep saying Brad Pitt should do more comedies!
Au Revoir
